Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate
Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN), held at CSULB, is an annual event that showcases Filipino culture through a series of dances, skit, music, and so much more. Katotohanan ("Truth") is a skit that focuses on the struggles of the indigenous people in the Philippines called the Lumad.
For the 2023-2024 PCN season, I served as one of the organization's programs coordinator, in which I designed the program's booklet, as well as the cast and board merch. The story of the Lumad people is incorporated all throughout the design using traditional patterns and symbolic themes from the skit itself.
This skit is being turned into a musical and will be presented at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, using the same logos and designs from the original version.

Cast and Board Apparel
For gear that was made specifically for board, I took on a whimsical approach by designing a shirt that had a space landscape on the back side. I illustrated a carabao (a swamp-type water buffalo native to the Philippines) and a Jeepney (a type of public transportation vehicle in the Philippines, a modified version of the US military jeeps left over from World War II.)
The illustration for the back of the shirt symbolizes the importance of writing and journalism within the skit, mixing it with the traditional ways of the Lumad people.
